About CoderDojo
CoderDojo organizes free programming sessions known as "Dojo's" where children and teenagers learn how to code, create websites, develop apps, and design games. Participants have the opportunity to meet like-minded peers and showcase their projects. CoderDojo aims to make programming and development an enjoyable and engaging learning experience.
Dojo's are established and run by volunteers, consisting of coaches with sufficient IT knowledge and the passion to mentor young people. There are also volunteers responsible for the practical organization of the Dojo. CoderDojo emphasizes open-source and free software, contributing to a rapidly growing network of members and volunteers worldwide. The mission is to demonstrate that programming is not just for tech enthusiasts; the young coders create exciting projects that exemplify how fun technology can be. CoderDojo follows a simple guideline: "Above all: be cool!".
Participation Details
Children aged 7 to 18 may participate in the Dojo sessions. Those under 12 years old are encouraged to have a parent or guardian nearby, although they do not need to stay for the entire duration. It is appreciated if parents return half an hour before the end to witness the showcase and assist with cleanup afterward.
Participants are required to bring their own laptops. Coaches will ensure that the necessary software is installed or will inform attendees if specific items are needed in advance. For those without a laptop, CoderDojo will make efforts to provide a portable computer.
Registration & Cancellation
The registration form primarily collects personal information about the participant. In some cases, additional information about the parent or guardian may be requested. Registration will require an email address and phone number for a parent or guardian. If necessary, CoderDojo will contact them directly.
It is appreciated when participants keep their registration information current, and if unable to attend, they can cancel their registration easily. Detailed instructions for cancellation will be provided during registration.

There are various paths available for participation; the complete offerings can be found on our wiki page. Beginners are encouraged to start with Scratch if they have no prior experience.
