The collection of Christmas trees will take place from Thursday, January 9th to Sunday, January 12th, 2025 in the following postcodes:
MK40, MK41, MK42, MK43, MK44, MK45, PE19, SG18, and SG19.
During January, volunteers will pick up real Christmas trees from participants' homes to turn them into wood chippings for local parks or biofuels. This initiative is an impactful way for the community to recycle trees while supporting local care services.
The donations received are vital for maintaining the care provided by teams dedicated to assistance during crucial times.
To ensure everyone has the opportunity to take part, interested individuals are encouraged to arrange their tree collection promptly.
Last year’s recycling program successfully funded 4,000 hours of care, made possible by generous contributions from supporters.
All proceeds go towards enhancing local community support for families in need.
Participants are kindly reminded to remove all decorations and tree stands before the collection, and to ensure trees are not potted or exceed 10 feet in height. Those living in challenging access areas should provide access details upon registration.
For those needing multiple trees collected, contacting the organizers beforehand is advised.
The team is reachable at 01767 642 412 or through email at stjohns.events@sueryder.org.
This tree recycling initiative is backed by various local organizations, including Welch Group, Mint Construction, and Solid Steel Fabrications, among others.
