In a touching case, a 38-year-old woman shopping in Nakawa market, Kampala, experienced pain and dizziness before unexpectedly collapsing. The busy market setting, filled with vendors, made it difficult for her driver to reach her relatives, who were an hour away. Bystanders quickly came to her aid, moving her to her vehicle, and it was decided that she should be transported to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, after a forty-minute wait, she arrived in critical condition and did not survive.
This sad incident was particularly impactful as the woman was a close friend of the organization's Director. It highlights a broader issue in the community: the lack of essential life-saving skills among residents.
In light of this tragedy, the organization is on a mission to install 204 user-friendly defibrillators in 20 towns and cities throughout Uganda. Support is needed to help save lives.
With a single contribution of £200, four individuals will receive training in Basic Life Support from a certified trainer. Participants will earn an EU-certified license valid for two years, enabling them to save lives.
Funds will be allocated to cover:
